Question about 'Setting up Dial-Up Networking'

I have a question about my dial up networking.
I recently upgraded to Tascali Anytime and was able to keep the same primary e-mail
address.
On my laptop, O/S Win XP all is fine,connects quickly.
Howevr, my mutimedia O/S Win 98 ny ideas? would really be appreciated.
I have checked the all the settings and they seem to be identical on both PC's.
