Hello there Lorena,

There are just to many to say what this is " fatal exception 0E at 0028".
It would really help to know the VXD() or filename involved with this.
If there was no filename involved, and since the address is BF88414,
this maybe indicating the area in memory where a B/W monitor is used.

You may want to check your System.ini file in the [386ENH] area.

Look for something like

EMMExclude=?????-?????

If you find Any, put a semi-colon before the line.
 Example:
; EMMExclude=?????-?????

ALSO.

Open your Config.sys file with your notepad or
C:\windows\system\sysedit.exe

You can open sysedit.exe in the START "RUN" box.

In C:\Config.sys look for the presence of

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE RAM I=B000-B7FF

If it exists you may also want to place a semi-colon there.
so that the line looks like this:

; DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE RAM I=B???-B???

Actually, the Emm386.exe file is not needed and really should
not be used by Wndows 98 at all. This Emm386.exe is really
for use with MSDOS programs that need access to the High
areas in Memory.

This Tip From MDGX.com/ & Support@microsoft.com ::::"THE Blue Screen Of Death" COLORS:::: In SYSTEM.INI [386enh] MessageBackColor=8 MessageTextColor=C 0 = black 1 = blue 2 = green 3 = cyan 4 = red 5 = magenta 6 = yellow/brown 7 = white 8 = gray 9 = bright blue A = bright green B = bright cyan C = bright red D = bright magenta E = bright yellow F = bright white Colors 0 - 8 are for Background (screen color), 9 - F Foreground. You can use any color on this list for either background or foreground, Bright Colors may be shown dark if used on the Background.
