Have you done a search for the missing file on your computer? If it is not found
you can download the missing file from http://scanners.driverfiles.net/page%2Cdll%2Cshow%2C98.html.
Save this file to your desktop and scan it with anti virus software first.
Copy the file to your C:/Windows/System or C:/Windows/System32 directory. (having
a copy in both locations will not hurt anything). Reboot and see if you still get
the same error message.
If the file was found on your search, rename it by deleting the .dll part and typing
.old before copying the newly downloaded file.
Another problem may be the scanner is not compatible with WinXP. I went to the visioneer
website and their drivers page for the 7600 does not reference the XP OS. So there
may not be drivers available to work with your operating system. You can view what
they say about this at http://www.visioneer.com/support/flatbed/7600osinfo.asp.
The XP section was prefaced with "Visioneer will not be posting a certified XP driver
for the 7600 series scanners".
Sorry to burst your bubble here, but this is a pretty common complaint of users trying
to use older products with newer operating systems.
Hope this helps you.
