How do I disable Standby mode on Win98 for good Friday, February 11, 2005 at 9:11 am Windows 98 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by qtormanen (1 messages posted) I have selected the "Always On" Power scheme, and have set "System Standby", "Turn off monitor", and "Turn off hard disks" all to "Never", but my computer still goes into standby after being left alone for some time. This is annoying because I have this computer attached to a KVM and when I switch to it, I want it to be ready to go. This problem was mentioned in the original post, but I couldn't find a solution in any of the related posts. I have verified that in my BIOS, the "Power Management" setting is set to "Disabled" and the "PM control by APM" is set to "Yes."
