OK, you made a copy of user.exe and edited that, right? I used ultraedit32, and if I remember correctly it uses the term "write" instead of "save". Once your changes to the copied file are written to disk, you go back to DOS mode, then rename the original User.exe to User.old (for example) then copy your edited User.exe file to the same directory.
