I'm not sure if my problem is the same as the topic here but it's close I think.
I have an older computer that I mostly use for the internet some word processing
but mostly music. It has 320 mb of ram one 6 gig hard drive and one 10 gig hard drive.
I use ecdc 6 and cooledit for the music. To get ecdc 6 to work I had to upgrade to
win98se. Since I did this, everthing runs jerkily - cooledit and ecdc etc. So when
I try to record from my records etc. it's jerky and doesn't sound good. I have tried
the fixes posted here but they didn't help. When I turn my computer off and on its
better for a while but then it seems to get worse and worse. I have scansed with
mcafee, avg and spybot etc and all is clear no viruses or spyware. Nothing is working
for me Please help me. I'm not sure what settings I should use for vert mem and vcache
etc.???
