To enter the boot menu hold down the ctrl key or repeatedly tap the F8 key when booting.

Each brand of computer seems to use a different combination to enter BIOS.  Some 
common ones are F1, F2, F10, ESC, and DEL.  That is a good place to avoid unless 
you know a lot about computers.
