ok.. this is strange.. because i have no idea what ive done or anything. i know i 
have not installed any new devices at all or anything yet.. 

and my sound has always worked.. but now no longer works.

so far i have tried to remove the sound driver.. in controlpanel/system/devices and 
then reboot... the plug and play bios detected my soundcard hard ware as i had hoped.. 
and automatically installed the drivers for it..

i thought i had fixed the problem.. but then it still.. has no sound.. and now is 
just back to where i started.

there is no sound speaker icon in the lower right anymore.. and anything that i try 
to play sound from gives me an error msg something along the lines of 

''No sound devices found. Please buy a soundcard first (or install proper drivers 
if you think that you have one) 
error code : 2 
windows error msg : ''MMSYSTEM002 A device ID has been used that is out of range 
for your system.''

its not out of range! i have a soundcard! that even the pnp detects!!! so wtf?!

also... my ie has stopped loading pictures on most sites... and reads some internet 
sites very strangely from how they are supposed to look.. 

could this be related as well??
im so stuck. 
as to what to do to try and fix this...

should i try to reinstall windows? over this version i already have?

i know i could probably format everything and everything could work again but 

i really dont want to have to do that :/
