I formatted the hard drive and did a clean install with a 98SE CD(not a recovery CD). The audio worked fine before the reinstall. The drivers installed automatically from the driver cd and all is well in the device manager. I have carefully checked to make sure that all the proper boxes are checked and volume controls are turned up in the multimedia controls. There is no sound coming from the speakers or the headphone jack. I reinstalled Windows and the drivers again and gained nothing. I'm positively stumped, could it be a motherboard problem? I value your expertise, Thank You
