I'm sorry.......I'm afraid that this prob. has me rather short-tempered. I do thank you for attempting to help. I did get into the router and did enable WEP, as well as downloading new firmware for it. Since I'm sure that there are a number of us "noobs" regarding wireless etc. - are you aware of any "Wireless for Dummies" net tutorials that could spare you, more experienced users from having to answer some pretty basic questions from us? Even the Linksys site tends to use acronyms and "geek speak" that make things difficult to understand for me anyway. I did check your links, and yes they were helpful - ty. I did run several tests at Broadband Reports, and found that my RWIN was set WAY too high, so I lowered it, along with several other values that were suggested. I did notice a difference in the d/l speed last nite, so I guess I'm on the right track. I had been using TCP Optimizer to set the values, and it had my RWIN at about 256,000. THe test said that it should be no higher than 100,740, which is where I have it set now. I guess there may be other tweaks that will improve performance. Thanks again for your help.
