Usually, when a keyboard goes out, you'll see this message on reboots: NO KEYBOARD DETECTED. If you don't see that message, that usually indicates you have other issues. Open the System icon in the Control Panel - click the Device Manager tab and look for yellow flags. If you see any report back.
