It gets too hard to find addons to threads this old, and you just don't get much
variety in answers offered.
Unless you choose to run individual "Uninstall" procedures, the old drivers are still
stored on the hard drive after you get new ones to use. From the Device Manager,
you can look at the Properties for various plug and play devices requiring software
drivers, write down the names of the current drivers, and use Windows Explorer to
make copies of those into a new, separate folder on the hard drive.
