Thanks for your replies. I doubt it's the mouse, like I said, I tried two others with the same results. Yes, in Word, I was using the draw tool, but I've tried at least 3 other programs that have a line drawing feature, and they all suffer from the same problem. This is another test I did that demonstrates the problem: Using a line tool in any of these applications, I left click and hold to set the anchor point, then move the mouse to set the lenth of the line, then while still holding down the mouse button, I move the end of the line in a circle around the anchor point so that the line looks like the hand of a watch moving clockwise, as the line passes through the 9 o'clock postion (horizontally left of the achor point), the line blanks out, the re appears once past the 9 o'clock positon. Since this is happening in multiple applications, I'm wondering if they use a common .dll file that got messed up, or could it be the video card?
