To help clean out your registry, you might want to download a registry cleaner from
http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/
The jv16 Power Tools v. 1.3 and the Reg Cleaner 4.3 are free software that do a good
job of it as free software. Both feature the same reg cleaner but the Power Tools
has additional features. But even after cleaning your registry with either one,
you'll still have some stubborn items left behind, but at least this time instead
of deleting a trillion Yahoo items, you'll only have to delete maybe only a dozen
or so because all the others will have been dealt with by the reg cleaner. It's
fairly easy to use but someone knowledgeable about such a program should guide you
through it if you're a bit squeamish about using it yourself at the start. Besides,
anything you delete is automatically backed up by the program so you don't lose anything
unless you actually want to delete the backups.
