"Next go to the Performance tab in System Properties and click File System and under Typical Role Of This Computer select from the dropdown menu Network Server." (J.R.: Sat, Oct 1, 2005, 2:22 pm)

"I did not do: "Next go to the Performance tab in System Properties and click File System and under Typical Role Of This Computer select from the dropdown menu Network Server." as I'm not a Network. (Dewey Nelson: October 2, 2005 at 2:18 pm)

Dewey: FYI,

Running on a Network or not, it was suggested as a change to optimize your disk operation.

I first ran acrossed this suggestion of changing the "Typical Role" of a P.C. back in 1999.

Reasoning behind it was; "to see if a faster operation is attained with the use of additional Ram for various Disk Buffers and Caches to speed up Disk operation."
