Hi yepytzme,
You need TWO drivers to get full screen colour and resolution, and it's important
not to confuse them... one for your SVGA monitor, and one for the graphics/video
card or chipset inside your computer. Usually Windows 98 can identify a satisfactory
driver for the monitor - but it is seldom able to identify a graphics driver correctly!
If you are not sure what graphics chipset your computer has, run a program like Aida,
as recommended, and it will tell you. You can then go to the manufacturer's website
and download the latest driver without charge and without the need to register in
any way.
If your computer has a brand name, and is stock-standard, as it left the factory,
then you can get the driver from the computer manufacturer's website; just make
sure you identify your computer model correctly.
This is perhaps the single most common problem that people write in with. If you
scroll back through previous pages on this site, you will find heaps of useful advice.
You shouldn't have to go back more than a week or so.
