Well Monica, this is worth trying.  You have nothing to lose.  Look on your win 98 
CD and find the files himem.sys and emm386.exe.  Copy them to the root of C:.  Use 
a standard text editor (do not use Word, etc.) to edit the config.sys file on the 
boot floppy (or make a copy of the boot floppy, then edit and use the copy) and add 
the following two lines at the TOP of the config.sys file.  Save and reboot.
DEVICE=C:\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\EMM386.EXE RAM

These statements make memory available to the os, and they may make your day.  Good
