Assuming you uninstalled Nero before reinstalling, and didn't just reinstall
over the top......

This error can be caused by a number of system problems. Although Nero uses it's 
own ASPI driver(s), if the system ASPI drivers aren't right it can cause Nero problems. 
Also running System File Checker, to be sure something else isn't corrupt may help.

Download and run this Aspichk.exe (the program doesn't require installation). 
If the test reports a layer problem, you will need to reinstall them.

Select Start/Run, type SFC (System File Checker) in the 'Open' box and 
press enter. Follow the prompts and have your Win98 CD handy.
