The error you received, is probably due to the Regedit.exe file missing. Download this copy of REGEDIT.EXE and copy it to the same floppy. Boot the inoperable system again while holding the CTRL (or F8) key to enter the boot menu. Select the COMMAND PROMPT ONLY option and press enter. From the C:\> prompt, type COPY A:\REGEDIT.EXE C:\WINDOWS (note the 2 spaces) and press enter. Next from the C:\> prompt, type REGEDIT A:\EXEfix08.reg (note the space) and press enter. You will see a progress indication (Importing File) as the file is merged into the Registry. When the C:\> prompt appears again, remove the floppy and restart the system.
