Be sure your speakers function. If the speaker icon exists in the system tray, this 
usually indicates that the system sound is working. You can right-click this tray 
icon and select 'Open Volume Controls', to be sure the sound settings are correct 
and are not muted.

To determine your systems audio device, you can download and install a program like 
(This program is also handy for other system information). AIDA32. 

When you run it, expand the MULTIMEDIA listing in the left pane and then click on 
the AUDIO related listing. Your device information should display in the right pane.

If you should need to reinstall the drivers, you may already have them available 
on media that came with your system? Or use...Sound Card Drivers.com
