Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 6:54 pm Windows 98 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Jon (112 messages posted) Hi, on booting I am informed that there are files missing that windows might need and to press any key to continue. When the boot gets to the last one of these (there are about 3 I think) 'dfs.vxd' and after I have presses a key the boot process freezes. I have to then switch the computer off at the mains and select a start up with step by step confermation which, if I'm lucky, will enable me to start Windows.
