|Can Windows 98 be easily upgraded to Windows XP (home edition)?

Besides the word *Windows* in their names,
Windows 98 and Windows XP have almost nothing in common.

In this case, the word *upgrade* is deceptive.
The proper concept is
**buy a whole new OS[1] and completely replace what exists**.
In my mind, hardly an "upgrade"--as I understand the word.

Does M$'s Marketing Department
have a ploy with a specific pricing structure for this particular transition?
Sure.
Will it work for you? See below.

Has this question been asked here before?
Yup. About a billion times.
