Sounds like Virus or SpyWare. Try this on line Scan, it's free

Download Avast Antivirus, Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAwareSE Personal. They are
all free, try google or WWW.download.com. The link below is for SpyBot S&D. Besure
to do the on-line updates for these programs.

Have fun, Newbie. Before you download and use these, clear all Temporary Internet
Files, Cookies, History. In control Panel clik on Internet Options Icon and kill
'em all, also delete Windows temp files. Doesn't matter what's in it.

PS, yes you can get rid of IE, just not now, and not completely. You'll still need
it for windows Updates. You have all the Updates, right? Get this resolved then
look into a new Browser.
Mozilla FireFox, Opera, and a couple of others are pretty popular.
