1st get the PC to connect to the router: Enter a static IP on the same subnet as
the router - you should be able to ping the router, if not - check the cables, NIC
etc. 2)how old is the NIC ? If the router is 100mb and the NIC is 10mb you will
not connect. 3) Is there a link light on the NIC/Router when you plug in the cable
?. (try a different cable etc) Once connected tothe router, then XP should talk to
the 98se over IP - it is not a sure thing. On several mixed networks I have had to
use NetBeui (load on both the 98se and the XP PCs) to allow viewing of XP on 98se
and visa versa.
