I agree with C_K: If you are getting corrupted files from several different drives and sources then you are most likely dealing with a bad peice of hardware, be it memory, chipset or other. Drivers will not be the fix - Windows 98se will load with the barest essentials (BIOS) and then load the drivers later. The quickest thing to try is to re-seat all the connections - Memory, cables CPU etc. Secondly - check for a BIOS update: Along the drivers thinking... could be a corrupted BIOS.
