Question about 'Using .CAB Files'

I have a question about Using .CAB Files:

My hard drive is getting full, and I'm trying to delete unused files. I have five 2 mg cab files in my C:\Windows\Sysbckup folder that are all dated within the last week, when I uninstalled Quicken, and deleted a necessary .dll file that the Quicken uninstall program erroneously told me was "no longer in use." I couldn't recall how to install a single file from my win98SE disk, so I tried several things before I got it right, and I suspect that's when the cab files were created. Is it OK to delete them now? I assume the .dll file has been extracted to the appropriate folder. If not, will I be prompted to reinstall whatever I need from the win98 disk, or am I playing with fire, here? Thanks for your help!
