Click on Tools on your toolbar, then Internet Options, then Programs, then Reset 
Web Settings.  This might get you kickstarted.  It could be that your browser may've 
been hijacked.  If resetting the web settings works, then immediately update and 
run your anti-virus and two o three anti-spyware programs [Ad-Aware, Spybot, A-Squared]. 
 Also, download another browser as a back-up.  You'll find that when you can't work 
with IE, you'll probably be able to do things with Opera or Firefox.  Always good 
to have another browser as a back-up anyway, although IE should be the one used as 
a back-up.
