My computer crashed recently after trying to install a webcam. I ended up reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling everything from scratch. It all seems to work fine now, except that when I tried to install a couple of Active X controls - one from my bank called a 'password safe' and the other from ebay which deals with photographs, I get a message saying that they cannot be installed. I know that all my browser settings are fine, there is no firewall as far as I know and I have not installed anything that wasn't on there before, apart from the automatic Windows Update installer. Please can anyone help - its driving me mad!!
