Had you run a firewall and watched the list of incoming things trying to access ports,
seeing the list grow every few seconds[1],
you might appreciate how many scumbuckets there are out there
trying to make your box their personal zombie.


[1] I dislike newer versions of ZoneAlarm
because with them it is no longer easy to do this.
