I have stuck to Win 98 for exactly that reason: Because Win 98 uses VFAT, it's more Linux compatible. But, someone has told me that I can ask for VFAT when installing newer Windows! And, yes, my computer is getting quite old, but it does what I need, so I am currently putting up with it. Money is tight.
