Did you copy the photos onto the hard drive from the CD and that's where you can't 
change the "read only" attribute??  They can't be changed while on a CD or a CDRW 
just in case that's where you are trying to change them.  If they are on a hard drive 
and can't be changed to "archive" for example, then it gets more complicated..
