First off, 55% free resources isn't too low, unless that's directly after bootup.

Second, off :)... There's a Site Advisor plug-in for IE also.

I was thinking of the Mozilla suite, which isn't yet explicitly supported.
(Firefox is explicitly supported.)
I didn't read your entire post...
I'm not all that savvy when it comes to [these] newer infections.
So, I [don't] deal with major malware issues much anymore,
other than to try to point victims in the right direction.
I acknowledge that I'm a piker when it comes to infections
--and even I know that it is getting to be a major chore
to try to stay current on all the nasties.
Note to Chas:
If you're lazy (like I am), you'll find that in the future,
the easiest route is to AVOID infections.
A little bit of homework pays BIG dividends.
