ISTM that DOS is DOS.
(Getting error messages would seem to confirm that DOS is working).

Now, THAT is accurate.
Learn to use the DIR command to see what actually exists. Try:
DIR D:\
or
DIR D:\SETUP.EXE
For help:
DIR /?
