I have a question about Use
the Third Mouse Button:
The 3 button mouse (not a wheel mouse) I installed to replace a 2 button MS serial
mouse (db9, not usb) has a problem with the auto-scroll function. It will not work
correctly in both browsers, IE or Firefox. It does work properly in all other prgms-
Wordpad, Notepad, Acrobat reader, irfanview, etc. What happens with the browsers
is the autoscroll icon will pop up on the screen but when I move the mouse up or
down, the page does not advance up/down. I even tried changing the middle button
setting to "page down" instead and when I click it the page jumps all the way to
the bottom instead of 1 pg at a time. BTW, this mouse has worked fine on another
PC for a couple of yrs so I don't suspect it's a h/w issue. I tried changing the
driver back to the MS serial mouse and it won't work either. Has anyone had this
problem and found a solution for it? I also installed the new Firefox 2.0 today and
no change.
