Emmanuel,
My understanding is that the HDD sectors, that previously contained the file contents,
are marked as "freespace" by the Operating System. Eventually that space will be
over-written and the previous file will no longer be accessable.
If you have not emptied the Recycle Bin, the file should be recoverable. Other than
that, special file recovery software is required to restore the file. Right click
on the Recycle Bin and select explore. If the file is still there, right click on
it then click restore.
