Hello Linda,

"Adaptec DirectCD" is one of the "UDF" format writer/reader applications. (Meaning
"drop and drag".) That method of writing/reading to disks is not very reliable.
Consider_ burning CDs using the what I believe is called the "ISO" format - burn
by way of the usual m_ethod, rather than drop and drag.

The most reliable alternative method (to drop and drag UDF) is to specify a CD-RW
as a multi-sesssion CD and copy with it only one folder, in which you have placed
the file you want to copy. Whenever you want to make a change, always make the change
(or copy the file) to that same folder and then do a new session to the CD - the
CD-RW is then updated from that folder.

If you don't have that sort of burning software, you could purchase the following_
"Nero 6.6" for £7.92, from:

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=23424481844&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=92894

I would mention that in the list of its functions you will see "InCD4" mentioned,
which is the equivalent of "Adaptec's DirectCD" and as mentioned above I would
NOT recommend that method of burning.
Instead use the main application: "Nero Burning ROM", or "Nero Express" which contains
wizards .

Note that Nero may not function unless you uninstall all Adaptec CD burning software!

I hope that helps.

Regards.
