Well, at least we've ruled out one piece of hardware. Summarizing: Remove all TSRs Delete all program temporary files Run Scandisk / Defrag Verify your computer has more than 200 MB available Recently installed software / hardware Disable external cache Disable Power Management / Screen savers Operating System issue (Kernel386 overwritten) Bad memory or other bad hardware 5 Star Support: Windows Protection Error Search Winit Tech Target: What is General Protection Fault Forumz.TomsHardware: Apparently insoluble windows protection fault! For WinME. Briefly, Scanreg /fix and Scandisk. Dux Computer Digest: General Protection Fault (Int 13) Esoteric (that is, assembler language) explanation. No advice. You have a long search ahead of you.
