I'm off line>in Safe Mode cannot get rid of the Explorer devil. Can run Disc Defrag by getting Explorer out but it won't work with Scan Disc. Been there done that since 2000 when Microsoft tried to solve the problem for me, their methods didn't work either and they knew it. But, I searched a little back on this message board and found a smart fellow who has written a program titled GEODisk© to solve both of the problems. The program worked! Even though Explorer was still in the background this guy's program circumvents it. Now, I've got to go back and find his website and send him some bucks for the program, it's a free download but I'm going to PayPal him some money. Thanks to whomever posted his website. Best Regards, Gerald
