Having 500 MHZ and 256 MB is quiet not enough: Just before I had a Pentium III-1 GHZ and 256 MB of RAM and I could "fall asleep" waiting until the computer loads up in Normal mode - up to 5 min. -regular (Windows 98) My suggestion: Since memory is always a solution to the speed of the computer try adding a memory up to maximum your computer's motherboard allows (if you are not limited to the money budget) and just play with msconfig by disabling some programs at the start up that create unspeakable load on the computers. Running defrag is also good solution to optimize computer speed. Of course, I think you should first try to run defrag and minimize start-up programs - then decide if you want to add more memory if your computer still allows it. Eduard.
