Windoze devices drivers are written by the manufacturers of the device.
If **they** don't produce them, how would you propose to get them?
In the Linux world, sometimes (given enough data released by the manufacturer)
"kernal hackers" outside the company can produce a device driver for a piece of gear.
Again, it depends on the attitude of the vendor.
With careless/clueless consumers as well as penny-wise and pound-foolish manufacturers,
