Assuming your computer has gradually slowed down over time the most likely culprits are excess data files throughout the system, limited memory, and too many processes running. So clean out the temp files, cookies, temp internet files, applog files, startup items folder and go to IE Tools and select Internet Options and click on Internet Files and select "off-line content" and delete. Finally, go to Start/Run and enter "msconfig". Open the startup tab and uncheck processes like Taskmon, Photoshop, printer, office, photoshop, etc. Do a search on this forum for which startup items to keep - be careful! This fix has been posted many, many times. Finally, there's the time-worn fix of running defrag and upgrading your memory.
