should also take note:
You too do a disservice to the community
when you pooh-pooh the common knowledge that those are
the
least secure applications a Windoze user can employ
and are the vectors for the vast majority of the INFECTIONS
experienced by the naive users who show up here with problems.
While it is possible to make those ancient, essentially unsupported apps less insecure,
the security of the out-of-the-box configuration of the venerable alternatives
is FAR superior to *anything* that can be achieved
by tweaking the junkware then pasting on several layers of band-aids.
