YES!! At least I can guess whats wrong.
You've been eating up the free space on your hard drive for all these years now and
have finally found out the required minimum amount of free space to run Windows 98
on with your exact hardware setup. And now you want to run Win2K on the same box
for $15 without loosing any files or emails.
I'm thinking I nailed you right between the eyes just like a catfish to a skinning
board - right? Catfish make a gwroop sound when squeezed uncomfortably tight - feel
free, you are among friends.
Ebay.com for Win2k and if you think 98 locks up just try Win2k with no other investments
in getting gobs of free space back under your hood. You could start now on the free
space thing, without the Win2K in fact. And it might wind up costing you nothing.
98 likes a big fat swap file I find, I only have 128 megs of ram though - maybe that's
why? But I run a 300 meg minimum swap file size with no maximum size set and I don't
lock up no more. You do what you want, I know I will. So that's a 300 meg swap
file plus a 300 meg minimum so that's around an absolute minimum of 600 megs
of free space on my hard drive, how is your free space exactly? Ram?
