My 56k modem that came with my motherboard recently stop working for me. I've tried reinstalling the driver for the modem and even reinstalling windows to get the modem to work again but that didn't help. I've got another modem installed now, but windows won't let me install the driver for the modem to try it out and see if it works ok or not. I've also tried an external modem with doesn't want to detect a dial tone either. Any ideas on what I can try to get a modem working on the computer again? I'm using windows 98se.
