If you can DIR you should also be able to copy your files to your floppy drive eg copy c:\windows\myphotos\wife.jpg a:\ this will copy the wife.jpg to your 'a' drive (floppy). How are you trying to access c:\windows dir. Try typing cd windows at the c prompt. this should take you to a prompt c:\windows.
