Thanks for the help but I don't feel confident enough to try partitioning out and
risk doing something wrong. I keep reading warnings that: "The use of Fdisk will
permanently erase all data from the drive or drives on which it is used. Only persons
with a fairly high level of computer literacy should attempt this procedure. Following
these instructions incorrectly could result in the loss of data or cause your computer
to malfunction."
I'm planning to get an XP in the fall and was going to use the 4GB to transfer files
over from my original computer but I can still use the 2GB for now.
It seems like partitioning shouldn't be necessary because my system was picking up
the 4GB and asking for drivers when I first plugged it in. I was trying to get it
back to that stage so I can try using the 98 driver you've pointed out. (I had downloaded
this one already.)
