It sounds like you are processing AUTOEXEC.BAT at Startup.

This is not necessary for most Windoze users.
You can disable this using MSCONFIG.

Yes.  The OS needs to know where to look for stuff (by default)
--but including \*\Ghost seems dumb.

Tried a different mouse?
When a device gives you problems, Remove it from Device Manager.
Restart your box and reinstall the device driver when prompted.


In addition, the less useless crap you have loading, the better your box will run.
