I have recently been getting this message when I start up the computer. I get
the desktop and after about 30 seconds it switches off and I get the message "Cannot
write to Drive C. I just press any key and the desktop returns and I can then proceed
as normal. Occasionally the computer will again switch itself off and on start
up prompts me to run scandisk.
I use my computer for photography and have recently been deleting a lot of image
files and defragging having filled my hard disc up. I have also restored a few
system files from my Windows 98SE CD which had been lost.
Recently I had a suspect email (with no attachment) and when I clicked on it to
delete it several windows came up with a message something like "program installation
failed". I wonder if this has anything to do with my recent problem.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
NB: I notice that my previous post about problems with my Apacer is still shown,
please ignore that as I have solved that problem.
Thank you,
Sue
I am unable to disable the 'read only' box in Windows Explorer Properties on photoes
written to CD from memory card on my Apacer Steno CP200 which I want to maniuplate
in Photoshop. Can anyone help?
