Optionally you can push winkey+E to do the same as above.
Sometimes the above will not work you have to log out and log back in with windows
xp ctrl+alt+delete or ctrl+shift+esc to bring up task manager and click "shut down"
and then select "log off" then log back in and the task bar will be restored.
