Hi Shirl,
I can't give you the exact answer because I've stopped using Win98 but I had a third-party
freeware utility which was able to show all the starup items and show where they
were launched from, and allow you to delete the relevant registry entries safely
(with a backup to go back to if there is a problem).
The utility was either RegCleaner or EasyCleaner - I had and used both, I just can't
remember for certain which one had that particular function, but I think it is EasyCleaner.
